Sendo uma unidade curricular de primeiro ano, pretende-se sobretudo fazer uma abordagem introdutória às problemáticas e à linguagem da conservação e restauro. Por outro lado, olhando ao cariz teórico-prático da disciplina, procurar-se-á ainda familiarizar os alunos com o trabalho de laboratório, oferecendo uma visão geral da tecnologia e materiais envolvidos comummente numa intervenção de conservação e restauro, bem como debatendo questões do foro deontológico.

Being a first year subject, it will comprise an introductory perspective to the Conservation and Restoration challenges and terminology. By the other hand, looking at the discipline’s theoretical and practical nature, we will try to make the student familiar with the laboratory experience by offering a general view of the technology and materials commonly involved in a conservation and restoration intervention, as well by discussing ethical and deontological issues.
